Fund Raising

On Sunday 28th August 2005, we organised a Fun Run\Walk at Richmond Park in South West London. This was to raise funds for the Christian Rural Aid Network (CRAN) to construct pre-school classrooms in a school in rural Ghana. We exceeded our target of £10,000. You can learn more about the fantastic work of CRAN at www.cran.org.

The Noble Friends partnered with the Sickle Cell Society (UK) in 2004 in organising the annual Sickle Cell Society bike ride to raise funds to improve the support for the many people affected by the sickle cell condition.

Most of the Noble Friends families actually took part in the bike ride, completing the 30 mile route.

When we set out to take on the ride most of us thought the real challenge would be to get enough sponsorship to meet our target of £10,000. This turned out to be the easy part.

The real challenge was completing the 30 mile journey. The gruelling ride revealed that some of us were not quite as fit as we thought but the sense of accomplishment at the finish was fantastic. It was a very enjoyable day and we are proud of all who took part and to support such a worthwhile cause.

A few of us also took part in the 2003 Sickle Cell Bike Ride to raised £5,000 to the society.
